3 Ways to Rock Your First Facebook Live

A few weeks ago I wrote about why you should be utilizing Facebook Live so I thought today it was time to share how to prepare for your first Facebook Live. Being on video really intimidated me at first so it took awhile to get on the Facebook Live train but now I’m obsessed and after a few live streams yourself, you might become obsessed too.

In today's post I'm sharing 3 ways to rock your first Facebook Live.

Rock Your First Facebook Live

Prepare in Advance

Unless you’re very confident on video, I recommend preparing for your live stream in advance. Before my first live stream, I wrote some notes so that I had an idea of what I was going to be talking about. I also even practiced using the Photobooth feature on my computer because I never really considered myself to be much of a video person. I still make sure to prepare some notes for each live stream in case I lose my train of thought and can’t remember what point I was on.

Let your audience know

Make sure to let your audience know in advance when you’re going to be going live. Even though it’s a little scary to have people watching you as you’re discussing your chosen topic, it’s better to have people there so you don’t feel like you’re talking to no one. Trust me on this, I had a few people present during my first live stream and it helped ease my nerves because I was able to get them to ask me questions and get a conversation going versus talking to myself.

Make sure to relax

I know that you’re going to be nervous doing your first live stream but just make sure to make relax during the whole porcess. You don’t want to come across as being too nervous so it’s important to just breathe and enjoy yourself during the live stream. Each time you go live it will get easier so keep that in mind.
