At some point, every blogger experiences blogger burnout whether it’s being stuck with creating killer content or just generally overwhelmed with the whole process. Today I’m going to share 5 key steps to planning blog content so that you don’t have to struggle to find things to post about each and every week.
5 Key Steps to Planning Blog Content
Choose your preferred way to plan content
Personally, I prefer to plan my content all digitally using a combination of Google Calendar and Trello. First, I write all of my post ideas down in Trello and continually update it whenever I think of new posts. Then I will go to Google Calendar and set up my monthly content calendar with post ideas selected from my list in Trello.
Schedule out any series that you may have
If you have any series that you do on a monthly basis, then I would recommend adding them to your calendar first so that you can plan around them. I have a series called Pin Perfect and one related to becoming a social media manager so I always add both of those posts to my calendar before adding anything else.
Make note of any upcoming holidays
If there are any holidays coming up, chances are you may have a holiday themed post so you need to make note of that on your content calendar so you can plan accordingly and work your other content around it.
Schedule any sponsored collaborations
After making sure my monthly series are included and making sure I’m not missing out on any key holidays, I’ll set up my sponsored posts in my Google Calendar to make sure I don’t miss any deadlines. This isn’t necessarily something I do for this blog since I don’t take on sponsored posts here but I just wanted to include it because most bloggers do have sponsored opportunities each month.
Browse Pinterest
When I need a little inspiration, the first place I head to is Pinterest. After scrolling through my feed for about 15-20 minutes, I feel instantaneously inspired.
