How to Navigate Your Tailwind Account

In the past, I have had a few people ask me how to navigate your Tailwind account so I figured that it was time to sit down and write a post about it. I have also included a video for those of you who prefer to watch a tutorial on Tailwind instead of seeing photos and reading a blog post.

Learn how to navigate your Tailwind account and maximize it to the best of your ability.

How to Navigate Your Tailwind Account

First when you log in to your Tailwind account, you will see the home page which consists of this week’s profile performance, you can see mine below.

This page showcases your followers, pin count, repin count, and comments for the last 7 days in addition to your follower growth and your daily follower growth in the two charts underneath your stats.

If you scroll down further, you will be able to check out your virality score, engagement score, and engagement right for the current time period.

Virality score – This is the total repins divided by the total number of pins. Essentially, it’s how much your pins are being repinned across your profile.

Engagement score – Your engagement score is the total repins divided by the total pins divided by (1000 followers).

Engagement rate – Your engagement rate helps you see how well your content is performing with your audience and is measured by counting how many of your pins that have at least 1 repin vs. no repins.

Tailwind Tribes

The next tab on your Tailwind sidebar is the Tribes tab. I’ve written a full blog post on how to navigate Tailwind Tribes already, so I’ll just give a brief overview here. Tailwind Tribes are similar to Pinterest group boards in that they help you get your pins seen by more people. This specific tab houses all of your Tribes, if any.

Publish Tab

The publish tab houses a few important pages like your drafts, scheduled pins, published pins, your schedule, and board lists. The tabs that we’re going to discuss are scheduled pins, your schedule, and board lists.

Scheduled Pins

The scheduled pins tab is exactly what it sounds like. It houses your pins scheduled through Tailwind. Although it’s not a super exciting tab, I do find that it has a few interesting features. One of those features being the fact that you can shuffle the queue and move your pins around with just one click.

Your Schedule

The your schedule tab showcases the timeslots for your specific schedule. Tailwind will give you ideal days and times that you should be posting content, but you can also add your own as well. As you can see in the photo below, Tailwind thinks I have 388 ideal times to pin on Monday which is absurd and definitely not something I do but I thought it was interesting.

Board Lists

The board lists tab allows you to easily schedule one pin to a ton of different boards at the click of a button. As you can see in the image below, I have my board lists segmented into three different categories: business, blogging, and social media. If you’re using Tailwind as your primary scheduler, you can separate each list by group boards. If you’re a lifestyle blogger and blog about fashion, beauty, travel, and other lifestyle related topics you could have four different board lists like fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle.

Monitor Your Domain

Underneath the monitor your domain tab, there are three different tabs – insights, organic activity, and referral traffic.

Insights

The insights tab shares a look into what’s being pinned from your domain. As you can see in the screenshot below, this tab showcases the number of pins pinned directly from my domain (and the daily average), the total potential impressions (and their daily average), the total visits (and the daily average). You can also see on the right trending images so those are the ones that are performing the best currently.

Organic Activity

The organic activity tab shows the latest pins from your website and allows you to engage with them byy repinning them if you’d like. You can also see a word cloud to the right sharing the words that I use most often in my pins.

Referral Traffic

The referral traffic tab shows the traffic to your website for the past month, in addition, to the daily average.

Track Your Brand Page

The Track Your Brand Page tab features the profile performance and board insights tabs. I’m not going to discuss the profile performance tab since it’s the same as the content on the homepage.

Board Insights

The board insights tab gives you an overview of how each of your regular boards and group boards are performing. For each board, you can check out both the total and the number added within the last 7 days for the pins, followers, and repins. This tab also shows the virality score (repins divided by number of pins) and the engagement score (repins dividied by number of pins divided by number of followers) of each board.

Pin Inspector

The Pin Inspector is housed under the Optimize Content tab on the left sidebar. This tab showcases all of your pins and their data. It also allows you to schedule a repin, add to tribes, and find similar content right from that specific page.
