How to Maintain Consistency as a Blogger

Set a Schedule

First things first, it’s important to set a schedule for when you’re going to post on your blog. Find out how much time per week you can commit to posting on your blog and go from there. You do not want to overwhelm yourself so I’d recommend going for anywhere between one and three times a week so you’re able to consistently churn out quality content.

Here on Confetti Social I post two times a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My readers have come to expect this from me so if I do not post on my regular schedule, it will probably throw people off.

Keep a running list of content ideas

We want to be efficient with our blogging process so keeping a running tab of ideas that pop into your head is key. This ensures that you’re always generating new ideas so that you don’t have to seek out new content ideas each week.

Create a Content Calendar

In addition to keeping a running list of content ideas, it’s also important to have a content calendar. A content calendar helps you plan out what content you’re going to be sharing each month. When you have your topics planned, you’re more likely to actually write because you already know what you’re expected to write out each week. If you’re struggling to figure out how to create a content calendar, then I have got you covered. Sign up and get my free content calendar template to help assist you with your content planning.

Write your content in advance

I know that most of us are probably scrambling last minute to get up a post but that is obviously not the best way to go about things. Writing your content at least a week in advance helps you shift your focus to the task at hand instead of throwing together a post at the last minute and maybe not being too proud of it. I find that if I write in advance it gives me the chance to go back and add anything that I may have left out.
