A month or so ago I shared why it was important to have your own domain so today I’m sharing another important aspect of business, having a custom email domain. Keep on reading to find out the 3 key reasons why you need a custom email domain.
3 Reasons You Need a Custom Email Domain
Reason #1: It looks more professional
If we’re being honest here, I’m more likely to take another blogger or a company seriously if they have their own email domain and I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one who feels that way. Having your own email domain goes hand in hand with having your own website domain. It just generally looks more professional and people are going to be more likely to take you and your business seriously.
Reason #2: It’s easier to remember
In my opinion, confettisocial@gmail.com is not as easy to remember as jenny@confettisocial.com. People could confuse the ending and put yahoo.com or another email host and then you’ll never receive their email. Of course, the email will probably bounce back if that’s the case but still having a branded email is the way to go.
Reason #3: It’s relatively inexpensive and in some cases free
I pay $10/month to G Suite to have my custom email domains for both this site and Breakfast at Lilly’s. So if you only have one email domain, then it’s only $5/month which is insanely cheap. If you’re currently on WordPress.org then most hosts have a free plan that you can take advantage of. Although it may not be connected directly to your Gmail account, this is a good option is you think $5/month is too much for you.
